Today’s cut throat competition has left us with no other option than to stick to our work and achieve the targets to earn our living. Lot many people work not just for money but for name as for them their work and achievements in their field defines who they are. Not wrong though but somewhere something gets ignored.

No matter if your work is your passion or its the part of your daily chore which you are doing for the heck of it, the fact remains that there comes a time when you simply feel like leaving everything there and then are run away from all those tasks, fussy projects, irritating clients and everything related to work.

Surely, you can’t do that as it will be highly irresponsible on your part. But then, that doesn’t mean there is no solution. It happens when your work becomes little too monotonous. The answer lies here; break the monotony of work. So what should be done when monotony creeps in at work and one fails to put in the best efforts? Here, we have listed down some really helpful tips to break the monotony at work and take a chill. 


Tips for Designers to Break the Monotony

1. De-clutter Your Desk

First thing you can begin with if you want to break the monotonous work routine is a simple idea of de-cluttering and organising your desk. Your desk, stationery, files, and other things you use while working should be well organised.

While you are busy handling projects and trying to meet the deadlines you often find yourself having the shortage of time to even de-clutter your desk-space. Cleaning it and making your desk-space organised will help you enhance your working experience and break the monotony too.


2. Cut Out Strict Formal Environment

You don’t have to work in a room with dull walls. You can anyday bring in the change by putting up some pictures of your loved ones, something related to nature or anything you love to. It will bring in some real good change in your work experience. Don’t simple sit in strict formal environment, you are a designer, run your imagination and put up something really cool on the walls.


3. Take Regular Breaks

Taking regular not so frequent breaks help in improving your productivity. Taking rest and some break in between the work will rejuvenate your energy levels keeping you boosted.

Achieving the targets is any day important but then if you don’t take break in between you are certain to get irritated by the mess and your mind won’t work in the right direction. So, it is always suggested to take regular but infrequent breaks in between to break the monotony.  


4. Stay Healthy 

Sitting in front of your laptops for long not only makes you mentally exhausted but physically too it takes your toll. It is always suggested to take a stroll in between to break the monotony.


5.  Treat Yourself

Eat something nice and healthy. Satisfying your taste buds, going out with friends to good restaurant is a great idea. Once in a while its good to order food from a nice restaurant. It is proved that eating yummy food enhances the mood. Also, it will help you break the monotony. Also, it will be bring a change from the boring work routine.


6. Get Out Of The House

If you are working from home, it is advisable to get out of the house for we all are social creatures and staying in solitude can have its side effects. Once in a while plan an outing with friends. Also, you can take your laptop to a coffee shop and work while enjoying your favorite coffee.


7. Have a Chit Chat With Your Friends

Well, if you do this often you will end up loosing lot of time which otherwise could be used in something productive but then chit chatting with friends once in a while will help you get out of the monotonous routine and make you cheerful.


8. Work Hard and Play Hard

It is said that one should “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”. This however doesn’t mean you should take your work lightly, its like word hard and play hard. We all live in technologically advanced era which is more of a blessing but it has created a lot of stress.  

Each one of us love different games. Once in a while play a game you love to. At this time, try keeping your cells and other gadgets switched off. This will definitely rejuvenate your mind and body. 


9. Read Books

There are innumerable e-books available but if you ask me I would suggest you to grab a nice book and simply close down the lid of your system if you are feeling exhausted. Reading a nice useful book will help you in getting back in form and cut that monotony of work.

There are miscellaneous reasons why it is suggestive for all you designers to blog. From enhancing your communication skills to improving your productivity, giving you creative outlet, one most important reason why you should blog is it helps breaking the monotony of your work.


11. Learn From Your Fellow Designers
